My Story

I am Amanda V., a vocalist performing for over 35 years.  Originally from Palm Springs, CA, I have been in Colorado since 1991.  My style of music is vast, to include rhythm and blues, pop, jazz and rock.  I have been performing with no other than the best Denver based dance, top 40 and hip hop band called Hip Pocket since 2012.  Along with Hip Pocket, my current projects are the powerhouse duo of chuck fisher and amanda v! called the watts up duo, Amanda Vs Material Girl Madonna tribute project and princess and the evolution, a tribute to prince with a tiwst.  Music has taken me all over the United States to share my talent in various venues, including festivals, private parties and wedding receptions.  I have been described by clients as “the ultimate entertainer!”  I attribute this to my love for performing, my  audience and the respect for my fellow musicians.

Beginning this musical journey at the age of 6, I enrolled in voice lessons and started performing in my school choir.  This opened the door for me to receive a variety of opportunities to show my love for singing, such as local music groups, variety shows, musicals and a steady gig as a karaoke track singer in a recording studio.  I learned very fast how to switch from one style of music to another.  This versatility has served me well.  When I moved to Colorado, I began performing with a local rock band called Southbound Express.  From there I expanded my musical interests to singing rhythm and blues, funk and disco, with groups such as Ron Ivory and the Miles Apart Band, Boogie Machine and the Pharaohs of Funk.  Although high energy is what I normally bring to a show, I have also performed in jazz and pop duos, allowing me to show my softer side and connect with my audience on a more intimate level.  Keeping up my studio chops, I also work with local artists laying vocal tracks for their music.  To top it all off, I am currently serving in the Colorado Air National Guard and have been honored to proudly perform our National Anthem, “The Star Spangled Banner” for  various local military events.

My career is in a very exciting place right now.  I just graduated from the University of Colorado Music and Entertainment Industry Studies program with a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance.  My hope is to someday inspire other vocalists and performers in an instructional capacity.  Although I have been performing for years, there is never a point where I have stopped learning as an artist, especially because I love my craft.  Please like my Facebook page at AmandaVsings or contact me at amandavsings@gmail.com for more information!  I look forward to entertaining you!
